Julian Perkins pic1 credit Andy CraggsEarly keyboard specialist Julian Perkins performs a clavichord recital exploring both early and more contemporary music for the instrument as part of the Swaledale Festival at an unusual venue. He will perform Stephen Dodgson’s Suite No. 2 for Clavichord alongside clavichord music by Byrd, Bach, Scarlatti and Howells.

He will also demonstrate and compare the subtleties of his clavichord and ottavina spinet.

'Dormi Jesu' – LFCCM opening night @ St Paul's Knightsbridge
The London Festival of Contemporary Church Music opens on Friday 8th May with ‘Arise, My Darling’, a concert from stellar London chamber choir Pegasus. The evening explores a range of sacred works by modern composers and includes Stephen Dodgson’s ‘Dormi Jesu’. This beautiful simple soprano-alto-tenor miniature mixes medieval harmonies with hint of modernism to produce an exquisite vision of the Virgin Mary nurturing the young Christ child.
